Call for Participants: 2020 Symposium on Taiwan and East Asia during the Ming-Qing Period

 This Symposium will focus on the discussion of Taiwan’s interaction with East Asia and its role, through perspectives such as overseas relations, commerce relations, and foreign transportation. On the other hand, it will discuss Qing and Japan’s similarity and difference of the governmentality in Taiwan, in regard to the evolution of modern governing system. Graduate students and postdocs in Taiwan history or Ming-Qing studies are invited to participate and learn with scholars and experts of the fields.

Eligibility Requirement

Domestic and International Graduate (MA or PhD) students and postdoctoral researchers in Taiwan History or Ming-Qing studies.

The application result will be posted on the organizer’s website (http://mingqing.sinica.edu.tw/conference/2020/Index.html) on July 31. Accepted applicants and applicants on the waiting list will receive an email notification.

Cost

Participants are responsible for their transportation expenses. The organizers will provide the meals and accommodation during the event.
